Welcome to the Taste of Transylvania “After-Party”

Taste of Transylvania WSQL Don DeBiase First Citizens Bank Amber WebbThank you Transylvania! This year’s Taste was the biggest ever: 14 restaurants, 16 sponsors, almost 300 attendees, 40 awesome items that raised over $4,600 in the auction alone for the mini-grants program in Transylvania County Schools!

Special thanks to Don DeBiase and WSQL Radio for broadcasting and emceeing the event, along with Amber Webb and her stellar team from First Citizens Bank. The support we enjoy from community partners — like our restaurants that served up their very best all night — makes everything we do possible!

You waited, you tasted, you voted. And here are your winners:

Marco Trattoria

Marco Trattoria

Best Appetizer

In a close race, Marco Trattoria takes the prize for their Tuna Seaweed Salad. Tough category, with lots of different vote-getters from all over the map!

Chameleon Catering

Chameleon Catering

Best Entrée

The scales tipped to Shrimp and Grits, served by a newcomer to Taste 2015, Chameleon Catering & Mobile Food Co. Some strong finishers challenged, but this was clearly ahead of the pack.

Blue Ridge Bakery

Blue Ridge Bakery

Best Dessert

Blue Ridge Bakery iced the field with a daring Chocolate Flourless Cake Infused with Chile Pepper, Served with Blood Orange Sauce. Despite that long name, they glided past the rest, smoother than real buttercream.

Best Of Show

Best of Show — your 2015 Taste of Transylvania — is the Blue Ridge Bakery’s spicy dessert with a name so long, we can’t even type it again!

Blue Ridge Bakery

Best Of Show: Blue Ridge Bakery, again in 2015!

The people have spoken, and we hope you’ll plan to come back in the first (yes, the first…) week of May 2016, when we plan to offer this hugely entertaining event again to support teachers in Transylvania County Schools!

Until then, keep coming back to tasteoftransylvania.org for updates and reminders of all the fun at Taste 2015, and how this truly special event moves the community to support its schools.
